Less than two weeks to go! I am excited to see the year of planning finally come to fruition. The ICPHSO 2017 Annual Meeting and Training Symposium is shaping up to be one of the best.
Imagine the planning and the execution that goes into running an event this size. With nearly 700 registered attendees, there has to be ample hotel rooms, meeting space, and food and beverage to keep everyone well nourished and up for the week’s intense schedule. We have nearly 120 speakers from many different backgrounds in product safety, ready to impart their knowledge to you. But it’s not a way one street. We always encourage active attendee participation so when you need more information, don’t hesitate to ask. We have lined up four keynote speakers and you won’t want to miss any of them. Keynote speakers include a Senior Vice President from Westchester, a Chubb Company, a leader in providing recall insurance to companies as well as part two of the panel discussion that debuted in Washington, D.C., between newly elected U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Vice Chairman Ann Marie Buerkle and Commissioner Marietta Robinson, again moderated by Eric Rubel. We will also hear from the President of the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) from Japan as well as a Senior Vice President from Samsung Electronics America, who will share relevant information pertaining to identifying risk and managing it once identified.
We have 37 exhibitors that will be at the Symposium with a wide array of resources to assist in our common goal of product safety. Over 50 sponsors make it all possible to meet and have the dialogue we have planned for the week. Through our Scholarship Sponsor Program and the generosity of seven Scholarship contributors, 14 stakeholders will be able to participate during the symposium that might not have been able to without such assistance. The voices these small businesses, first time attendees, students, academia, health professionals, global regulators and others share with us during the Symposium will benefit us all. Please be sure to send a special thanks to our seven Scholarship Sponsors.
We have an exciting program ready to roll out on Monday, February 20, 2017, with lunch at noon. You don’t want to miss it. Registration on line ends February 8, 2017 so we can finalize everything before we get to Orlando. The good news is if you can find your way to Orlando and find a room to stay, we will still register attendees on site at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel. Bring your completed registration form with you.
We continue to add speakers and update the agenda, so check back on line for the latest Symposium information. If you check the Schedule out on your smartphone, the event mobile app by Sched should download (with your permission) the weeks schedule directly onto your phone. This is a convenient and easy way to be kept up to date on the latest schedule of events taking place during the Symposium.
See you in Orlando!
