With less than three weeks to go, the ICPHSO Midwest Regional Training Workshop will be the place to be on July 11, 2019.  Hosted by and at St. Louis University, Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, Center for Supply Chain Excellence, this training workshop is shaping up to be one of the best yet.  With the recent news about CPSC Acting Chairman Ann Marie Buerkle’s term ending at the end of September, 2019, ICPHSO is fortunate to have her as our keynote speaker during the workshop.  The update by the Acting Chairman will give all attendees an inside look at the agency she has been associated with for the last six years and as its Acting Chairman for the past 2.5 years.

The workshop sessions will cover a number of current product safety issues, including the CPSC Data Breach and what it means for the future of section 6(b); Product Safety Lessons that can be learned as a result of the recent Boeing 737 Max 8 issues and how the problems uncovered with the Max 8 is a good lesson for all product safety professionals to understand and address with their own consumer products; Biometric Data Privacy Laws affects all consumers and is something all product safety professionals need to pay attention to as more and more States start addressing the issue; and we expect a robust discussion on Why Effective Recalls Are So Hard to Achieve.  We are also fortunate to be able to hear about a topic that all product designers, manufacturers, and test labs especially should pay attention to on Gender Differences in the Toddlers Ability to Open Child Resistant Packages.  This special presentation shares new data that reveals interesting information about gender behavior when testing child resistant packages.  The information learned is relevant to all who do product safety testing and consumer product packaging and is not limited to those who produce or sell products in CR packaging.

As you can see, Planning Chairman and ICPHSO Board Member, Xiao Chen and her planning committee have selected very current and topical sessions for our regional training workshop.  Space is still available as are hotel rooms.  Don’t delay register today.  Registered attendees will also be able to participate in a pre-workshop reception on
July 10, 2019,  at the MOTO Museum right off the SLU campus.  This museum features a private collection of unique motorcycles obtained from over 20 countries from around the globe covering almost 100 years of motorcycle history. The museum is a celebration of the form, function, evolution, and elegance of the motorcycle.

We look forward to welcoming you to our 2019 Midwest Regional Training Workshop.  Click here for Registration Information.  Click here to see the latest AGENDA.  Thanks also to our Sponsors and Exhibitors, whose support allows us to continue to bring these training conferences at the lowest possible rate so all safety professionals can take advantage of the opportunities presented at the workshop.
